Cedric Vengetachalliam

“[A Working Idaho Families Tax Credit] would make quite a difference to me. There [are] a lot of bills that run in that category.”

-Cedric

If Cedric Vengetachalliam received an Idaho Working Families Tax Credit, he could pay for groceries for a full month with the money. The Boise resident, who works for a beverage distributor, is also raising his 6-year-old daughter. He doesn’t get to see her as often as he likes because of the hours he works.

Although Cedric earns too much money to qualify for food stamps, he and his family are barely able to pay their bills. Many of those bills, such as what he pays for housing, cost a few hundred dollars – about the amount he might receive from an Idaho Working Families Tax Credit. The extra money, he said, would make a real difference for him especially now that the costs of basic food staples are rising.
